Code of Conduct

Purpose

Ridgedale Athletic Association (RAA) provides a positive and safe environment for all participants. Our league focuses on teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while encouraging fun and fair play.

This Code of Conduct establishes expectations for players, coaches, parents, and spectators to ensure an enjoyable and respectful experience for everyone involved.

Player Expectations

All players agree to:

  • Show respect for coaches, teammates, referees, opponents, and spectators.
  • Display good sportsmanship at all times, win or lose.
  • Follow the rules of the game and instructions from coaches and officials.
  • Attend practices and games on time and notify the coach if unable to attend.
  • Avoid negative behaviors, including arguing, profanity, bullying, or unsportsmanlike gestures.

Coach Expectations

All coaches agree to:

  • Lead by example in demonstrating sportsmanship and respect.
  • Prioritize player development, participation, and enjoyment over winning.
  • Treat all players fairly, providing equal opportunity to learn and improve.
  • Communicate schedules, expectations, and rules clearly to players and parents.
  • Address misconduct calmly and constructively.

Parent & Spectator Expectations

  • All parents and spectators agree to:
  • Encourage all participants positively, regardless of performance.
  • Respect the decisions of referees, coaches, and league volunteers.
  • Avoid negative language, yelling, or disruptive behavior.
  • Follow proper channels when addressing concerns with coaches or the league.

 

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • A verbal warning from a coach or league official.
  • Removal from a game, practice, or event.
  • Temporary suspension from participation.
  • Permanent dismissal from the program for repeated or serious violations.
  • RAA enforces zero tolerance for physical aggression, harassment, or bullying.

By participating in Ridgedale Athletic Association as a player, parent/guardian, and/or coach I agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
